Collections on HighWire

Inclusion of an article in a collection is determined by an editor. Please read that overview, and a description of how the codes get into an article here.

To create a new collection

Go to the UMBRELLA Maint page to manage collections: http://hwmaint.llc.life-science-alliance.org/maint/ -> Collections Maint -> Create a collection

The ID should be the next sequential ID. A list of subject collection codes is available here.

Name = name of collection

Alias - collection ID

Display order = 2 (0 or 1 will force the collection to be at thetop of the list. 2 will order alphabetically)

Status = Active

New collections/subject areas have to be added to and mapped in EJP. EJP or RUP staff can map subject areas to the corresponding collection ID, as set in the previous step in HW. See instructions in the attached configuring_a_new_collection_code document.

Once the adding and mapping has been done in EJP, check the subject areas in EJP -> Advanced Journal Tasks -> Configure Collection Codes.
