New Article Type Procedures and Notes

When a new article type is requested, it takes a few weeks to get going.

Then, the following info needs to be provided to HighWire, TNQ, and EJP.

HighWire – Open a Salesforce case

• Provide HW with earliest possible publication date
• Provide <article-type> and <subject> (nested) and request a configuration update to display only the 2nd level subject on article
• Describe any special element handling
• Provide sample files ASAP (XML, PDF, etc). [we have skipped this for article types that are exactly the same as existing ones]
• Request that HW prepare HWX for intake of new article
• Will the new section require pluralization be supported on Newest Articles page, TOC, alerts?

HW Salesforce (new development) case sample:

We’d like to add a new LSA article type to be published in early January. These will look exactly like Reviews, except for the article type head.

Sample email request:

We’d like to add a new LSA article type, ‘Research News’ to be published in February.

Details:

Will look exactly like In Focus, except for the article type head..
